Hugh,
Bali Is Calling.
A rainforest. An active volcano. A mission worth climbing for.
Hugh,
This October, we’d like to invite you to the Vulkaan Rainforest Preservation Retreat in Bali, which shares the purpose driving the work you’re doing with the Laughing Man Foundation.
Why might you travel halfway around the world for something like this?
Well, beyond helping stop deforestation in the fastest disappearing rainforest on Earth, we’ll be climbing a colossal active volcano, the “navel of the earth”.
The Balinese believe a dragon lives here that blesses climbers with great wisdom.
We’ll also unlock hidden aspects of the psyche in meditation with a Balinese master, study Bakti Negaram, the traditional martial art of the warrior monks, learn transformative daily vitality practices, ride Royal Enfields on heaven-like beaches and surf a world famous break with a legendary surfer.
While eating like Balinese kings with one of the island’s best traditional chefs and exploring purpose around a bonfire.
We’re working with one of Indonesia’s largest and most respected universities, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), to teach and equip the farmers of Indonesia to shade grow high value crops that’ll enable them to earn more by preserving their rainforest land than they would by selling it to the palm oil deforesters who are responsible for Indonesia losing half of its old growth rainforest (70 million acres) in the last 35 years.
As one of the great actors and doers of our generation, we’re hoping you can join us to help shift the world’s attention to saving these jungles and their people before it’s too late.
Here’s a short video about the retreat.
Please email us if you’d like to know more about it.
Thank you (and thanks for your stellar performance in New Born — I was lucky to have seen it).
